If you have a kid that loves dinosaurs and transforming toys, these Jurassic World toys are really cool. They have 2 forms, which seem to be a predatory dinosaur, and a herbivore. The color use works well for both forms and the limbs are designed as such that you can barely tell these are transforming toys.
They’re simple to figure out, but the included instructions make the process even easier. They do require a specific order in the transformation process, especially on the body section.
For $15, these are just right on the scale of current toys. The shared engineering probably keeps the cost a bit lower than some other transforming toys.
They feel pretty sturdy with tight joints, but nothing so tight it would be hard to move for a kid. The paint may wear off over time, but most of the toy is solid colored plastic, so paint apps are minimal to begin with. All the components have a thickness to them, that I wouldn’t worry about parts falling off.

My little one absolutely loves dinosaurs and brings several figures where ever we go. This nifty little two in one has made it easier for us to free up space in our diaper bag. It took some time to teach our little one how to properly swap between dinosaurs, it doesn’t take much force to pop the lids off but there are proper steps you need to follow in order to make it easy to switch between dinosaurs. This is a well constructed toy that will last my little one quite some time. I highly recommend it to any Dino loving little one, it would make an amazing gift !

Got this for my friend’s kid for his dinosaur themed 5th birthday. If you know a kid who happens to be into transformers and dinosaurs this should almost certainly be a hit. He had trouble figuring it out at first (and so did I), but he had it down after a couple hours and was switching it back and forth again and again having a blast. Ended up being his favorite gift despite the huge fire truck with lights and sounds, a giant Lego set, etc. Seems pretty durable, but I recommend supervising at first because it’s tricky and kids tend to try to force it closed instead of figuring out how the head and tail fit properly. It’s always wonderful to find an entertaining gift that doesn’t make noises you’ll inevitably hear for 5 hours straight. This toy is proof that toys don’t have to be complicated and fancy to entertain kids. It’s not huge, just a little bigger than an average adult male hand.

Imagine the fun of a Transformers toy, but with the added joy of it being dinosaurs that transform, and that’s what you’ve got in this Mattel Jurassic World Fierce Chargers toy. I ordered the two different verions of the Tyrannosaurus rex & Ankylosaurus toys because those two are my son’s favorites, and this way he can have two T-Rex dinos fighting each other, two Ankylosaurus, or one of each. The two are the exact same; the only difference is the coloring (one is predominantly brown and green and the other is mostly green and gray).
The toy suggests an age range of 6+. There aren’t any small parts that come off and are a hazard, but just as with Transformer toys, these do take some memory of the steps that need to be done and some manual dexterity. I’d say that these can be 3 or 4+, depending on your child’s independence and dexterity, and how much you want to be the person transforming versus them.
These T-Rex models transform in 8 steps (some different dino models are up to 28 steps, so these are more simple). My son can change these back and forth on his own and has a great time doing it.
I thought that these were going to be a little bigger than they are (it says 7” by 5”, but that is when the dinosaur is standing up on it’s back legs.
Although we don’t know for sure what their skin looked like, these dinosaurs look realistic and are very detailed with muscles and bumps on their skin and teeth that look like they are ferocious. It seems like it is very sturdy even though there’s a lot of moving joints. This is a fun toy, is a good value, and would make a great gift for a dinosaur lover.

What a great little dinosaur! We have always had a good experience with this brand (Mattel Jurassic World Dinosaurs) and this transformer toy did not disappoint. Now I just have to buy another one so my boys will stop fighting over it…
