Printer arrived in a nice sturdy box. I unboxed and the big surprise was there is not quick set up guide. Howeve it did direct you to go to a website for easy set up instructions and illustrations. I wanted the set up guide because usually printers come with so many taped down parts (for shipping) it’s hard to find them all. This had so little tape, I kept looking. I got it set up & ready for the PRINT HEADS & INK. I was surprised that it was so easy. The PRINT HEADS go right in, they are clearly identified & fit the necessary position. The INK bottles will not fit onto the wrong color tank. They do not spill while turning them over to dispense. I had no problems at all connecting to the internet. I would definitely recommend this product

Absolutely nothing wrong with the printer. Setup was simple until you get to direct phone to printer gobbledygook. It took me 4 hours to finally get that working properly via trial and error since instructions were a bit weak. That was mostly Canon’s Print app which is terrible to set up but once you get it going it’s not so bad. Make sure that all your permissions are on and your data is turned off while you’re doing setup or you’ll just be hitting your head against the wall. Printing is absolutely beautiful!! For photos you may have to tweak the settings a little bit to get the quality of print that you want. I printed out an entire catalog for one of my classic vehicles and not one glitch. I printed almost 100 pages right off the bat with color pictures!!!! Four stars is only because of the crummy Canon Android app.. The other recommended app didn’t recognize the printer at all. With many pictures it only used about a 16th of the tank of black ink (front page alone was almost entirely black) and can’t really notice much of a drop in the colors. Wish I could have given five stars because the printer itself deserves it.

This printer is good overall, but there are some serious gotchas that you should be aware of before purchasing this printer.
Cons: 1) This printer does not have automatic duplex. This means that you have to manually pick up all of the pages and place them back into the paper feeder in the correct orientation to print on the second side. 2) This will only scan one page at a time. This means that you need to stand by the printer and scan each document one side at a time. For larger documents, this would be a non-starter. I can’t believe a 2-sided paper feeder isn’t standard in a machine like this. The scan quality is pretty poor as well. You’d think scanning directly off the glass would be better, but nope. 3) You cannot scan directly to email. You must set it up via your computer. This is slightly annoying, but honestly, the first two items are much worse in my mind.
Pros: 1) You fill up an ink tank to print. This is much cheaper and it feels much less wasteful than buying cartridges. 2) Setting up my printer was really pretty painless. I had to scan a QR code or enter a specific web address, but I have not had any connectivity issues. 3) It shuts off automatically. My HP printer is constantly updating and making noises. I appreciate that this printer can just be set to shut itself off after a short amount of time.
Overall, I cannot recommend this printer. I will most likely be returning mine. I love the ink tanks and the ease of use, but there are much cheaper printers that have the features that I miss. I realize that most printer companies make more money off the ink than off the printer itself, so I assume the good features were purposefully left off. It’s a shame.

I would have never got this many prints with a disposable cartridge printer! I’m so glad I went the route with inkwells instead. I’ve made hundreds of prints on various paper types and barely used up the ink. (The scanner is a bonus too!) The only con is the display screen, I have my printer in an area with a little lower light and it is next to impossible to read without a flashlight. I don’t use the menus too often to be a really big issue but when I do it is a pain.
Regardless of that minor gripe I’d definitely recommend this printer to anyone on that mid range budget, I already convinced 2 other people I know already to buy the same model!

Good print quality. Love the fact I don’t have to spe$45 to $60 every 15 days for ink. Some connection problems to my Chromebook, my tablets, and my phone’s.. was connected to everything when I installed it but somehow lost connectivity. I hope it’s not going to be an ongoing issue. I just haven’t had time to figure it out yet.

An awesome grandmom. –
I have one that I bought 2 years ago and every time my 16 year old granddaughter came to visit she would use it, so I asked her would you like one for your birthday, and my daughter said mom that’s the best gift you could of bought her. Mind you it is expensive but I print and cut everything on it from my cricut machine, and the ink lasts forever. I am glad they still had it available.

My older pixma, multi-ink printer was throwing too many error codes. We bought this model to replace it. Very much like the larger (cheaper?) ink tanks, but transitioning from the better input screen, print options and early photo print quality was disappointing. Lack of duplex is not a problem – didn’t need the scanning autofeed. Unboxing, setup, and wifi connection was easy. So far, so good.

Printer arrived in a nice sturdy box. I unboxed and the big surprise was there is not quick set up guide. There were other docs on safety & warranty (in dozens of languages) a big waste of paper & 1 page with a web address & QR code for set up in English & Spanish only. They empty into the tank in seconds. It may have been only one minute longer to fill the tanks as opposed to inserting old style ink cartridges. Then a button press or two was all it took then the printer finished set up on it own as any printer would do. Quality is great for documents, pictures it’s OK. I’d rather use a service for pictures anyway.

I wish it had larger paper capacity, perhaps a tray type. Rear feed only holds about 30 or so sheePurchased Jan 2022. Today is Nov 29 2022. Ink has not been changed.Have used about 1/8 of ink. Dont use all the time mostly banking reports, but even at that , cartridge printers I was changing cartridges quite often which is expensive. Ink tanks are way to go ,unless you want a laser printer.
